1. All residents, and owners and operators of businesses, age nineteen and over, of Fort Langley Village bordered by the Fraser River on the North, Hudson Bay Street on the East, Sellers/88th Avenue on the South and Wright Street on the West; are eligible for annual membership.
1a. In addition, all those living within the Fort Langley Elementary School catchment area,as defined in 1997, are eligible for annual membership.
2. Every member of the Association shall uphold the objectives and comply with the bylaws of the Association.
3. The amount of the annual membership dues shall be $1.00 (one dollar).
4. The Annual Meeting of the Association shall be held in the month of September in each year, at the time and place determined by the Executive. At least 2 (two) weeks notice of the Annual General Meeting shall be given.
5. The regular general meetings of the Association shall be held two (2) times each year, including the annual general meeting. In the meantime the Board of Directors shall meet at least four (4) times a year. Other meetings both general and executive, may be called at the board's discretion.
6. No meeting of the Association shall be held unless there is a quorum present.
7. At any Annual or general meeting of the Association, a quorum shall be 5 members present.
8. At the Annual meeting, the Association shall conduct the election of thirteen Directors from the membership.
9. All Directors are eligible to hold Executive offices on the Board, which are Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
10. The Executive shall retire from office at each Annual meeting and an interim Chair appointed to call the Board together to choose the new Executive.
11. Members of the Executive shall hold office until the conclusion of the next Annual meeting of the Association.
12. Members of the Executive are eligible for election to another position on the Executive, provided that no member of the Executive shall hold the same office on the Executive for a period of longer than 2 (two) years, without an absence of one year.
13. If a member of the Board resigns his office, the remaining Board members shall appoint a member of the Association to complete the term of the vacant position.
14. The President shall Chair all meetings of the Association, and business shall be conducted in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order.
15. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Association and supervise other members of the Executive in the execution of their duties.
16. The Vice President shall carry out the duties of the President during his/her absence.
17. The Secretary shall conduct the correspondence of the Association, issue notices of meetings, maintain an accurate record of proceedings of the Association, have custody and preserve all official records and documents of the Association, except those kept by the Treasurer, and maintain the register of members.
18. The Secretary shall ensure that minutes of an annual or regular meeting shall be signed by the person who presides at the meeting at which they are adopted.
